ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Welder – Fabricator will weld/fabricate materials for electrical construction projects at Baer Manufacturing.

  • Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job.

  • Repairs and fabricates various items and equipment using cutting, burning, and welding techniques and equipment.

  • Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.

  • Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Thorough understanding of machines and tools used in welding/fabricating including but not limited to wire feed welding (Mig), plasma cutting, grinding, drilling, shearing, and punching.

  • Experience with tungsten inert gas 9TIG) welding on aluminum and stainless materials is preferred.

  • Understanding of design drawing, principles, and tools necessary for the precise and timely production of assemblies.

  • Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms.

  • Understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignments.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This job operates in a manufacturing environment and is exposed to weather conditions.

  • Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) per facility requirements, including but not limited to, hard toe work boots, safety glasses, gloves and, high visibility vest.

  • This role occasionally uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, photocopiers and fax machines.

  • Employees are frequently required to sit, stand, and occasionally required to bend, kneel, reach, stoop, or crouch.

  • This position may occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
