Job Overview:

McDermott has an opening for a Principal Planner in Houston, TX. The Planner will be responsible for preparing and maintaining Level 3 detailed Engineering/Procurement /Module Fabrication/Construction and Commissioning schedules, with the purpose of providing the Project Management Team with accurate progress, performance and schedule data to manage the project Facilitate project schedule validation workshops. Position will relocate to Construction Site.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Sr Planner for Major EPFCCm Projects

  • Works with the project manager and project controls manager to manage the project planning activities.

  • To ensure timely and accurate preparation and maintenance of CPM schedules and progress reports for all aspects of work including engineering, procurement, fabrication and Construction

  • This includes the development and maintenance of CPM based project master schedules, milestone schedules and interface schedules, also interfacing with client PMT members and sub-contractors.

  • Ability to develop, resource load, level, and update activities in alignment with earned value management systems.

  • Able to produce workforce histograms and progress and quantity curves in connection with the schedules.

  • Maintain and review sequence schedule activities, and other operations for control of critical path and overall project durations.

  • In depth knowledge of work package principals and management. – Advanced Knowledge of Primavera P6

  • In Depth Knowledge of report creation for importing and exporting data from Primavera P6.

  • Ability to mentor junior members of the team and deliver functional training. - Understand how to use information available to satisfy data requests.

  • Analyze and provide additional insight or correlations within data sets.

  • Analyze projects based on historical data and current trends to provide project insights.

  • Implement the Lesson Learnt as applicable for Project control function - Planning & Sched

  • High standard of safe working practice, quality and productivity as well as compliance with Code of Business Conduct

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • Candidate shall have a minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in the capacity as a planner

  • Must have solid commands of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office software

  • Must be able to use advanced features in Excel (curves, histograms, formulas, etc.)

  • Strong Onshore Oil & Gas, LNG Project Experience

  • Must be willing to relocate to Construction Site

  • Ability to think critically
