MRI, a woman-owned Technologies and Engineering Services company, has an exciting opportunity for aProject Engineeronthe JETS II Contract at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX.We are excited about what we do, and we need you on our team as we take on exciting challenges for NASA's pursuits in deep space exploration.

As aProject Engineer (TVAC Systems)you will:

• Provide project engineering support to one or more projects
• Prepare engineering specifications, statements of work, and estimates for a wide range of test related projects Manage budget and schedule of projects that are assigned
• Work in a team environment, and report to a section manager for technical support, task assignment, and processes
• Coordinate and lead Mechanical Engineering designers, stress engineers and drawing checkers to complete detailed fabrication drawings
• Support hardware troubleshooting to investigate mechanical and electrical failures with test support hardware Generate essential paperwork and documents for tasks assigned, such as Task
• Performance Sheets (TPS), Discrepancy Reports(DR), and Detailed Test Procedures (DTP), as needed
• Place and carefully track progress of procurements
• Prepare and present designs at various engineering design reviews
• Perform job functions based on pre-established guidelines or instructions
• Perform other duties as required

Here's What You'll Need:

Requisition Qualifications and Preferences:

• BS degree in engineering from an accredited engineering school
• Must have a minimum of five (5) years' relevant engineering experience
• Familiar with Johnson Space Center (JSC) organizations, processes, and procedures
• Fire Hazards in Oxygen Systems Training
• Inventor, Creo or other similar CAD Soft ware package is preferred
• PMP certification

Environmental, Health and Safety Requirements

• Environmental, Health and Safety Requirements:
• Individual may be required to climb ladders and/or work in Confined Spaces
• Individual may be required to work in Oxygen Deficiency Hazard areas
• Individual may be required to work in High Noise environment
• Individual may be required to occasionally work off -hours, nights, or weekends to support mission critical projects

Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency may be a requirement for this position.

Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Attendance

Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to w rk outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
