The Manager, Enterprise Data Governance will lead and manage organization-wide data governance activities and have responsibilities for the data loss prevention, data privacy, data lifecycle management; and electronic data/Legal discovery programs. The position will utilize industry standard frameworks to ensure adherence as determined by business needs and risk to all areas under the Data Governance program. This role will report directly to the AVP, IT Security.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Governance

  • Develop and execute strategic roadmaps for all data governance programs

  • Create, manage, and enforce data governance related policies

  • Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance

  • Serve as a liaison between Business and Functional areas and technology to ensure that data related business requirements for protecting sensitive data are clearly defined, communicated and well understood and considered as part of operational prioritization and planning

  • Define and report on key performance indicators of the program to senior management

  • Work with Information Security, Information Technology, and Legal teams to maintain a Data Inventory and Map

  • Maintain Data Classification policies and systems as applicable

  • Active member of the incident response team

Data Privacy

  • Manage and maintain data privacy controls to ensure adherence to required regulations.

  • Work closely with the legal department to maintain an inventory of applicable regulations and ensure company compliance as it pertains to data and systems

  • Oversee all compliance efforts related to data privacy programs and regulations

Data Lifecycle Management

  • Meet with executives, department heads, managers, supervisors, and others, to assess, and capture needs for data retention

  • Work with IT to select and implement data lifecycle management tools and capabilities to meet defined policies and requirements

  • Create and enforce policies for effective data management

Data Loss Prevention (DLP)

  • Responsible for DLP solution for, Data at Rest Scanning and Data in Motion Monitoring and policies are enforced.

  • Works the Information Security and Information Technology teams to select and implement solutions to meet the company needs.

  • Reports on key performance indicators of the program and makes risk based recommendations for improvement

Electronic Data Discovery

  • Coordinate data collections and legal holds in conjunction with guidance from the legal department

  • Manages third party vendor relationships for discovery, production and storage of forensic collections

  • Assist in identification of systems with relevant data required for collection based on requests from legal and other departments

  • Ensures compliance with retention requirements for all data hold requests

MINIMUM Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor degree in technology or business related fields

Certifications

  • Current Cyber Security or Privacy related certification through an accredited organization such as ISACA, ISC, or IAPP

Experience

  • 3 Years working in a leadership role

  • Experience working and managing a remote teams

  • 5 Years supporting Data Governance

  • Experience implementing and working with security and compliance frameworks as it relates to the job responsibilities

  • Technical background either in information technology or security

  • Data Privacy programs and related regulations work experience

  • Data Inventory and Scanning solutions work experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Analytical abilities; both technical and functional

  • Ability to deal with complex functional specifications and determine how to best implement them technically

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills and the ability to work with a wide variety of individuals

  • Prefer the ability to condense and interpret complex issues

  • Able to prioritize and process multiple complex projects; deadlines; and processes with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Knowledge in business applications

  • Able to plan and manage the utilization of resources

  • Effectively facilitate and lead work groups

  • Apply knowledge of the organization personnel policies and procedures

  • Ability to take initiative and meet objectives

  • High level of interpersonal and problem solving skills
