Logistics Coordinator

T.G. Mercer, a leader in logistics and transportation services, is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to join our Houston team. This role is ideal for someone with a background in trucking or transportation dispatch who is looking to leverage their experience in a dynamic and growth-oriented environment. We are looking for a proactive individual passionate about delivering excellence in logistics coordination and customer service.

What You'll Do

Key responsibilities you will have at T.G. Mercer:

• Coordinate logistics operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.

• Communicate effectively with truck drivers, carriers, and customers to ensure smooth execution of transportation plans.

• Negotiate rates with carriers and service providers to achieve optimal cost and efficiency.

• Generate and manage shipping documentation, and coordinate all aspects of the shipping process.

• Track shipments from origin to destination, providing updates to stakeholders and resolving any issues that arise.

• Collaborate with team members to identify and implement process improvements.

• Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving any operational issues promptly.

What You'll Bring

Qualifications you will bring to T.G. Mercer:

• Experience in logistics, transportation, or a related field, with specific experience as a dispatcher, is preferred.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Proficiency in using logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Ability to negotiate effectively and build relationships with carriers and customers.

• A proactive problem-solver with a keen attention to detail.

• A bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field is a plus.
