DESCRIPTION OF WORK A Children & Youth Assistant Administrator 1 assists the administrator in directing the overall operation of the department. This position oversees and coordinates delivery of services as required by all legislative mandates as well as encourages and supports implementation and practice of agency practice standards and initiatives. Work includes monitoring referrals made to external providers, reviewing and authorizing payment of invoices, and encouraging staff to achieve their highest potential by ensuring supervision, training, learning, and mentoring to help them deliver effective customer-driven public and child welfare services.

This position collaborates with other administrative staff to develop and sustain the vision and mission that guides the direction and administration of the department through the implementation of departmental goals, initiatives, programs, and budget with approval by the administrator. The incumbent also consults and collaborates with direct services supervisors, caseworkers, and support staff regarding case specific or position related concerns, needs, and problem solving. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Three years of experience in the field of public or private social work, including one year working with children and youth in an administrative or supervisory capacity; and a bachelor's degree; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Legal Requirements: You must pass a background investigation. A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening. This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
