The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) Bureau of Facility Design and Construction is seeking a registered surveyor to tackle property and topographical survey challenges to support the Bureau's mission. DESCRIPTION OF WORK The main objective of the Bureau of Facility Design and Construction is to offer technical assistance to other bureaus within DCNR in various areas such as project design, project inspection, construction management, contract administration, surveying, and other technical advice. As part of this mission, your role will involve providing staff support in coordinating and conducting surveys for the Bureau of State Parks and Bureau of Forestry. You will also be responsible for maintaining records of completed and ongoing work, managing a survey crew, and ensuring the proper inventory and maintenance of equipment and supplies.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.

You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 5 days per pay period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year as a Surveyor Technician Supervisor; or

Five years of responsible surveying work, including one year as a chief of party of a wide variety of surveying assignments; and graduation from high school.  An Associate Degree in surveying or engineering technology may be substituted for one year of non-specialized experience; or

Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirement: Possession of a registered surveyor's license as issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, or possession of a registered surveyor's license obtained in another public jurisdiction under requirements which are at least equal to those of Pennsylvania.
