DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this position, you will participate in a comprehensive hands-on 12-month training program. You will perform entry level technical training work in the bridge inspection unit of the District Office. Upon successful completion of the training program, you will be promoted to a Transportation Construction Inspector in the District Bridge Unit with the commensurate increase in pay scale. You will assist a bridge inspection team leader in performing a variety of technical duties associated with the inspection of bridges and other structures in accordance with the national bridge inspection standards (NBIS). In addition, you will assist with bridge safety inspections on existing bridges, including bridge structural members, foundations, supports and components.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Vendor-controlled position. Work hours may vary to meet operational needs. An associate degree in surveying, drafting, designing, civil, or any other appropriate field of engineering technology. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
