DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this position, you will embark on a one-year training program as an Air Quality Engineering Specialist. Throughout this position, you will gain valuable experience in reviewing plan approvals and general permit applications, ensuring that new air containment sources meet the necessary requirements. Your assistance will be crucial in recommending changes to permits or issuing denials based on the application's information. Moreover, you will have the opportunity to utilize your engineering skills to identify potential polluting problems and address any issues with air quality devices that do not comply with our air pollution control program. As a trainee, you will continuously enhance your technical proficiency over the course of this comprehensive training program. The work products produced are reviewed by the supervisor before being issued or released.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. This position will require travel to attend conferences, meetings, training, and facility visits as necessary. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 3 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements: A bachelor's degree in the field of engineering; or One year of engineering experience, and possession of a valid Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Condition of Employment: This position requires possession of a Class C Driver's License.
