Fluor Federal Petroleum Operations Manager Design Engineering in Harahan, Louisiana

Design Engineering: 1. Manages and coordinates projects to resolve engineering problems that have an important effect on major SPR programs. Responsible for the preparation and presentation of Enterprise Change Proposals for revisions to the program baseline. Responsible for providing turnover support for facility changes and additions. 2. Manages and coordinates the preparation of preliminary design feasibility studies for Major Maintenance (MM) projects. 3. Manages and coordinates the preparation of designs and Summary of Work (SOW) task packages for maintenance type construction subcontracts and Corrective Maintenance Plans (CMP) for site personnel to make repairs or changes to systems. 4. Manages and coordinates the preparation of Descriptions of Work (DOWs) to define design work to be done by the DOEs Architect-Engineer . 5. Assures that System Description Manuals and Electrical Operations Manuals are updated as part of the RRB process. 6. Manages Title III support including submittal approval for MandO designs, factory testing and field testing support. Assign SMTRs for technical services contracts handled out of Engineering. Planning and Resource management: 1. Assigns members of Mechanical, Electrical and Civil Engineering group to projects or engineering tasks as required. 2. Establishes and controls schedules for the mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering group. 3. Responsible for mechanical, electrical, and civil input to the Major Maintenance short and long term plans and the capital budget submission annually.

Design Reviews and Peer Reviews: 1. Provides final approval of Engineering design documents. 2. Ensures that sound engineering practices and all design procedures are followed throughout the mechanical, electrical, and civil department. 3. Provides overall supervision and application of current engineering technology in mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering disciplines to conform to engineering design standards, specifications and systems drawings. Responsible for Engineering input to and implementation of design schedules and milestones.

Continuing technical and managerial education and training in latest technology.

REQUIRED: Bachelors degree in an Engineering field such as Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Petroleum, or Chemical Engineering Candidates must have a minimum of fifteen years progressive engineering experience to include plant processing design, construction, or project development environments. Strong management skills and strong written and oral communication skills are required, as well as administrative, analytical and organizational skills. Preference is given to candidates who hold the LA or TX Professional Engineer license.
