The Role:

An experienced and highly motivated Head of Quality/ Quality Manager working in the renewables sector is required to ensure and assure all aspects of Quality across the UK and Ireland business operations are fully understood and proactively managed. Ameresco UK currently holds ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001, CHAS, Safe Contractor and other accreditations. We currently have offices in Guildford, London, Bristol and Leeds, and project (construction) sites across the UK and Ireland.

Role Scope

  • Undertake a strategic review of the current QMS, identify and analyse gaps, create plans and build a team to close the gaps to provide a world class Quality service across all aspects of the organisation.

  • Design, develop and implement a comprehensive quality management system that aligns with best practices, industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Establish meaningful quality objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of everything we wish to measure from a quality perspective.

  • Build, lead and manage a team of quality assurance professionals to serve the business throughout the entire project lifecycle.

  • Develop and lead an internal audit programme and team to assure our processes, identify areas for improvement, and to then manage and implement the corrective and preventive actions required to make things better.

  • Develop, draft and manage processes and templates in conjunction with the PMO and other internal departments.

  • Plan, manage and coordinate activities for external audits to take place to ensure the company maintains all applicable quality, certification, regulatory, ethical and industry standards.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate quality into all aspects of the organization - sales & marketing, social value, business development, engineering and consultancy, implementation, construction and project management and performance services including measurement and verification and operations and maintenance.

  • Provide training, coaching, mentoring and guidance to all employees on quality management principles, processes and tools, and how they apply across the business.

  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, certification bodies, regulatory agencies, etc.

  • Stay current with industry best practices and regulatory changes related to quality assurance.

  • Assess, record and reduce/ manage the risks associated with the quality assurance function.

  • Support Procurement to ensure quality underpins and assures purchasing and supplier onboarding activities. Establish meaningful supplier key performance indicators (KPIs). Evaluate supplier performance and contribute/ lead on addressing issues.

  • Consider environmental and social impacts on quality decisions through developing and implementing ethical, sustainable and socially responsible quality practices.

  • Develop, lead and manage a customer complaint process and system.

  • Develop, lead and mange an NCR process and system.

  • Develop, lead and manage a warranty complaint process and system

  • Lead and deliver our quality function to benefit the business, reduce costs, streamline processes, prevent waste, reduce failures and enhance reputation.

    Qualifications

  • Minimum of a HND, but preferably a Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field.

    Essential Requirements:

  • At least 7 years of experience in a Head of Quality/ Quality Manager role,

  • Expert and in-depth knowledge of quality management ISO standards, principles, methodologies and tools and their practical and functional application into a multi-faceted business.

  • Excellent communication, discussion, negotiation, de-escalation, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

  • Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills.

  • Experience working in a regulated industry.

  • Ability, flexibility and willingness to travel to all offices and sites as required to deliver the function.

  • Be agile, flexible, caring, understanding and robust enough to ensure we always do the right thing, and not the easy thing.

  • Commercially aware and astute with experience of evaluating and negotiating contracts.

    Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience in the construction sector, especially in renewables/ battery energy storage systems, solar pv, energy efficiency industries.

  • Certification in quality management (e.g. Certified Quality Manager, Audit Manager, etc).
