OVERVIEW

Merrick is seeking a full time Electrical Designer for Facility and Equipment design projects and studies with our High Performance Facility design group. This position can be located in Greenwood Village, CO; San Antonio, TX; Albuquerque, NM; Chamblee, GA; Merrit Island, FL; Boise, ID. This position specializes in the design of facilities and related power systems for Government clients. Work assignments include electrical design for power generation, facilities, renovations, research labs, multi-purpose buildings and electrical systems. Local Candidates strongly prefe Typical hourly pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00. Pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience. WHAT YOU'LL DO

As an Electrical Designer with Merrick, you will be involved with project work involving a variety of activities including conceptual and detailed design of low voltage (1000V and lower) power distribution, medium voltage (up to 15kV) power distribution, power generation systems (backup power and prime power), grounding and lightning protection systems, and motor control systems. Experience with facility lighting systems and control, voice/data communication cabling systems, access control and security systems is desired. Work includes electrical system design and drafting work, electrical calculations, assisting field investigations and project construction support. Candidates should be capable of performing fundamental electrical design calculations, and electrical design / documentation assignments under the supervision and direction of licensed professional electrical engineer. Candidates should have excellent communication skills and technical writing skills. Knowledge of REVIT as a design tool is highly desired, a working knowledge of AutoCAD is required. Knowledge of electrical design software such as SKM Power Tools is desired but will train for this position. Experience with NFPA Codes such as NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) and NESC (National Electrical Safety Code) is desira REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Client projects for this position require U.S. Citizenship. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

0 to 2 years of facility design experience is desirable, preferably with U.S. Government such as DoD, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Air Force, etc. Associates degree in Applied Science or Computer Drafting and Design is preferred but will make exceptions for related design experience. Working knowledge of REVIT and AutoCAD. Experience using electrical calculation tools is desired, such as lighting software (AGi32), Elum Tools, and power software such as SKM Power Tools, ETAP, or EasyPower. PERKS
