Fabrication Account Manager - Grantsville, MD

The general role of the Fabrication Account Manager is for the sales, estimating, and planning of fabrication in the Bittinger, Maryland Steel Fabrication Shop.

The Fabrication Account Manager (FAM) will report directly to the Fabrication Shop Manager. The FAM will work from Beitzel Corporation's Bittinger shop location. The FAM must have a full understanding of sales, customer relations, steel fabrication and safety and its importance to the company. Job responsibilities can be broken down into the following essential functions:

1. Sales and#149; Determine market strategies and goals for steel fabrication services and#149; Research and develop lists of potential clients and#149; Following up on sales leads and making cold calls to potential clients and#149; Maintaining up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments that effect target markets and#149; Establishing and maintaining industry contacts that lead to sales and#149; Acting to close deals and finalize contacts and#149; Meeting established sales and revenue goals and#149; Resolving problems with products and services and#149; Researching, developing and maintaining long and short range sales and marketing plans and#149; Producing regular reports and final plans for the Manager's approval and#149; Monitoring, analyzing, and communicating monthly sales data to contribute to product/service planning and#149; Developing and regularly updating promotional materials to target identified customers and#149; Provide company pre-qualification information to customers

2. Estimating and#149; Effectively estimate and quote customer projects. and#149; Obtain bidding documents and establish timeline for responses; analyze bid documents for scope, schedule, conflicts/clarification needs, risk and construction strategy and#149; Attend pre-bid meetings throughout our service area and#149; Develop and track bid formulas based on steel weight, fabrication time and complexity. and#149; Perform detailed take-offs and establish bid sheet / file and#149; Prepare and submit project bids and proposals and#149; Follow up on bid results (obtain results, review competing bids, etc.) and#149; Work with Shop Manager and Foreman to schedule reasonable timeline for activities concerned with steel fabrication projects. and#149; Initiate and maintain liaison responsibilities with owners, customers and other contacts to report project activities. and#149; Represent company in project meetings and attend strategy meetings. and#149; Work with legal counsel to manage content of contracts to protect company's interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with the customer. and#149; Formulate reports concerning such areas as work progress, costs and scheduling

3. Project Management - this position may assist with fabrication project management responsibilities as needed or assigned by the Fabrication Shop Manager

4. Other Duties as Assigned by the Fabrication Shop Manager. The duties listed above are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. Qualification and education requirements for this position are as follows: 1. High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of two (2) years' experience in industrial sales and/or marketing; preferred 2 or 4 year degree in business related field and 5 or more years in industrial steel fabrication or structural steel sales. 2. Must exhibit a high-level of professionalism representing Beitzel Corporation at all times. 3. Excellent customer relations, presentation and communication skills. Well-developed sales skills. 4. Technical knowledge of the industrial steel fabrication and structural steel industry. 5. Knowledgeable in OSHA an MSHA and Oil and Gas Industry processes and standards. 6. Ability to communicate effectively; verbally and in writing. Skilled in dealing with customers and co-workers in a manner which will facilitate any constructive problem solving possible. 7. Excellent knowledge of personal computers and software packages including specific knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. 8. Ability to work under stress and handle stressful situations. Ability to meet deadlines. Ability to learn new skills and technology as it pertains to business and fabrication needs. 9. This position is subject to the Beitzel Corporations Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy which includes: pre-employment, post-accident, random, reasonable suspicion, return to duty, and follow-up testing.
