ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

This position will be part of the CHI at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB), Galveston is a new Center formed in partnership between the School of Medicine and UTMB Health in 2021. CHI has a tri-partite mission of catalyzing rigorous research, helping UTMB to continue to evolve into a learning health system and enhancing population health in South-East Texas. We are recruiting faculty to help build The Center. Competitive candidates will be expected to have a history of independent research funding and a deep commitment to applied research that has impact at the level of the patient, healthcare system, or population. He/she will also have a strong interest in mentoring junior faculty and fellows. Applicants will also be expected to have a demonstrable track record working on multi-disciplinary teams.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

MD or PhD with 5+ years of experience conducting and leading research in the area of quality improvement, patient safety, health services research, implementation science, or a related discipline

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Five-or-more years of experience conducting research in an academic health system
