Job Description

Gilead IT QE is seeking a skilled Associate Director who will be responsible for managing the daily test operations, services and testing assuring continuous improvement of standards for Software Quality Assurance. This resource will also be responsible to propose and implement technology and process roadmap, and transformation/service enhancement for IT QE. Along with partnering with business and IT to ensure delivery is compliant through assessments, consulting, coaching, and advising.

Specific Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple complex portfolio of systems and ensures testing activities adhere to quality standards and best practices.

• Strategically manages testing activities across multiple projects or products to ensure alignment with business goals and maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of testing efforts.

• Early testing to eliminate defects at an early stage reduces the bug fixing cost and time.

• Lead Data system testing in the commercial space involving complex ETL process/logics, complex data integration and Business rules governing it.

• Hands on involvement using the Gilead Test management tools, understanding the underlying process and best practice to manage test artifacts/deliverables.

• Demonstrate and implement precise testing strategies, methodologies, and processes, while optimizing the allocation of resources.

• Work with Development team, middleware team, Third party application owner, and other interfacing team in defining, reviewing and addressing issues related to testing and test strategy.

• Orchestrate and co-ordinate UAT testing to help business validate their system this may also involve third party application.

• Will be involved in working in an Agile/Scrum environment, this will involve identifying potential test automation opportunities and ensuring adherence to Agile principles and processes.

• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and learning across portfolios.

• Identifies areas for process improvement/transformation and implements changes to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness across the portfolios.

• Contribute to best practices for incorporation into Quality Engineering knowledgebase.

• Provides consulting, coaching, and advising for product teams to assure successful and quality delivery.

• Supports the domain-specific shared service, as applicable (for example, Automation Shared Services, Performance Engineering Shared Service).

• Manage escalations and participates in the project team as required.

• Establish and monitor quality metrics to assess the effectiveness of testing efforts.

• Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors.

• Demonstrates an understanding of application development methods, the project management process, as well as the fundamentals of requirement specification, design, and development/configuration

Basic Qualifications:

14+ Years with High School Diploma or equivalent

12+ Years with Associate Degress

10+ Years with Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline

Skills:

· Strong leadership experience in software testing and ability to motivate and mentor team members, as well as effectively communicate with stakeholders.

· Experienced in conducting end to end integrated testing that involves Web services, Database interface, Third party services, Middleware/File system/SOA interfaces.

· Experienced in different testing techniques like BDD, Acceptance/ Exploratory Testing.

· In depth knowledge of ETL testing process, data warehousing concepts, and solid understanding of SQL is required to provide appropriate guidance to the team.

· Worked on mind map tool for test designing.

· Experienced in TDM (Test data management) techniques, facilitating smooth testing process with high quality test data.

· Experienced performing complex API, Website and mobile testing.

· Good understanding of source code management and branching strategy is a must.

· Accessibility testing knowledge on websites using different tools and techniques is a plus.

· Apart from functional testing, experienced in Security Testing and Performance Testing.

· Proficient in using collaborative development/Test management tools like azure/Jira and HP ALM is a must.

· Good understanding on cloud computing concepts and experienced working on cloud-based systems is a must.

· Familiarity with data masking techniques is preferred

· Experienced/Knowledge using different testing tools SoapUI, Postman, TestNG, LoadRunner and SQL query engine like Starburst/Athena.

· Experience with CI/CD and implementing test automation (e.g Selenium, JMeter, Jenkins, TestNG etc) to the deployment pipeline

· Strong understanding of the Pharma industry and the specific challenges related to software testing in Pharma/Healthcare industry is beneficial.

· Working knowledge of Agile methodologies, DevOps and automation.

· Experience with Managed Service Operations

· Strong collaboration skills required to effectively work across a diverse group including executives, managers and subject matter experts (SME)

· Knowledge of Core HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Time Tracking, and Talent Management in preferred.

The salary range for this position is: $177,905.00 - $230,230.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
