SUMMARY:

The Sr. Quality Engineer is responsible forensuring compliance across all authorized distributorsunder delegated processes, procedures, regulations, and guidelines, specifically: FAA 14 CFR Part 21, Subparts F, G, K, O, and associated Parker-related procedures and process documentation. This position maintains and improves the Distributor Quality Management System which includes initial qualification reviews, audits, corrective action processes and training. This position contributes to the development, establishment and maintenance of quality engineering methodologies, systems, and practices. Responsible to guide technical evaluations, analysis, and related data acquisition processes to ensure division quality objectives are achieved. This position reports to the Division Quality Director.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Provide Quality leadership, technical expertise, and project management of performance improvement initiatives with Parker Distribution.

• Work with distributors to ensure their quality systems, procedures, inspection plans, product quality performance trends and technical quality plans/reporting are fully compliant to requirements, and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement activities where they are not.

• Ensures compliance to specified quality requirements by performing audits and surveys.

• Develops and initiates programs to improve quality performance.

• Prepares comprehensive reports by collecting, interpreting, analyzing, and summarizing data and making recommendations. Analyzes proposed changes in methods and materials. Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions.

• Leads qualification and on-boarding processes including evaluation and maintenance of the approved Distribution listing.

• Review and provides input on quality requirements to product development and commodity teams during NPIs and work-transfers; recommends producibility improvements by facilitating process reviews, addressing technical data packages, manufacturing methods, equipment, tooling, and training.

• Stays current on applicable federal, state, and local rulemaking by studying existing and new legislation, ensuring adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.

• Shares specialized knowledge with others (Regulatory, Engineering, Quality, etc.). Represents company on high-level projects related to or relevant to the role. Work assignments may include cross-functional or project team responsibilities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline. Master degree preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through5- 8 years of related aerospace experience.

• Experience in advancing a Zero-Defect culture utilizing advanced Quality tools such as statistical analysis, PFMEA, 8D corrective action, A3 problem solving, 5 why analysis, Ishikawa diagrams and other six sigma tools. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to multitask and work on a variety of problems of diverse scope and complexity where analysis and evaluation of various outcomes require tradeoffs and negotiation.

• Ability to solve a wide range of difficult problems in creative and practical ways and evaluate alternative solutions that may require coordination across multiple teams. Ability to establish goals and objectives to complete projects. Ability to routinely apply project management skills and to effectively use project scheduling computer software programs.

• Knowledge of modern inspection and quality inspection and quality engineering/assurance techniques, procedures, instruments, equipment, theories, principles and concepts and general business operations. Knowledge of aerospace industry or similar industry products and legal and regulatory requirements related to field. Ability to use standard business applications software and/or specialized data analysis tools.

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints, specifications, technical journals, policies and recommend changes to procedures. Ability to effectively communicate and present information to team members, team leaders, and top management.

• Fluid transfer systems and machining knowledge a plus.

• Will require 30% domestic and international travel.
