Summary About the Position: The supervisor provides broad goals and objectives with clear priorities for the college's Learning Management System (LMS). The employee assesses given goals and objectives and creates a project plan for accomplishing same within the desired deadline. The employee is responsible for independently assessing, compiling, consolidating, and presenting the courseware into the LMS and for making appropriate recommendations consistent with observations and feedback. Responsibilities As an Educational Technician, you will perform the following duties which is not an all-inclusive list: Develop preparatory course material through coordination with faculty. Set up online discussion sites for users of learning and course management systems. Retrieve learning management system data to verify accuracy of student enrollment. Prepare and brief project progress for the school leadership. Utilize automated database systems to generate reports. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes maintaining an automated information database such as a Learning Management System/Blackboard, generating statistical and graphic reports from raw material, troubleshooting courseware access or system navigation issues, and responding to customers to resolve inquiries. -OR- Education Substitution: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in Education, Adult Education, Human Resources Administration, or Business. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of all your transcripts.) -OR- Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Communications Customer Service (Clerical/Technical) Data Collection and Analysis Education and Training Program Administration Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
