Position Summary:

The Department of Visual Arts & Art History at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) invites applications for a nine-month Visiting Instructor position in Graphic Design ​based on the Fort Lauderdale campus starting in August 2024 and ending at the conclusion of the Spring semester in May 2025.

The successful candidate must be committed to undergraduate and graduate teaching and mentoring. We seek a candidate with demonstrated teaching and professional experience in the following areas: emergent media, interactive design, design theory, visual design principles, and typography. Must be able to teach core competencies in the context of changing practices in social/disruptive media and emergent technologies including, but not exclusive to, AI in design practice. The teaching load is four courses per semester, Fall 2024 and Spring 2025. We are looking for a candidate with a developing record of creative research and an interest in engaging with the wider activities of the department and the university.
