RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deploy, engineer, and troubleshoot complex network configurations for on-premises or cloud-based networks and assists in the development of playbooks for network systems such as SDWAN systems, and other architectures.

  • Assist in troubleshooting and deploying network technologies, such as Wireless Infrastructure, Digital Experience Tooling, WAN optimization systems, ZTNA based deployments, and SASE based deployments.

  • Assists in the integration of new systems and tools. Develops and maintains scripts to facilitate network administrative tasks and automate repetitive processes.

  • Sets the requirements and thresholds for monitoring systems for network devices. Participates in troubleshooting sessions for network-related issues at all layers of the OSI model while understanding Routing Concepts, Switching Concepts, Quality of Service, Traffic Engineering, Filtering and Tuning.

  • Monitors performance identifies areas for improvement for the network and implements performance tuning.

  • Identifies trends in issues and determines the root cause to reduce future issues.

  • Develop and ensure adherence to network policies, standards, and standard operating procedures for how-to documents.

  • Undertakes the regular analysis and interpretation of traffic and utilization of services on network connections.

  • Acts as escalation engineer during major outages, observes systems for network alerts and events so quick response can be provided, and issues can be proactively addressed.

  • Analyzes alternative hardware, platforms, and technologies for the network infrastructure.

  • Assists in the development of Private SaaS, Edge Computing, and other advanced cloud capabilities

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology preferred, related field or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years of relevant experience required.

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional Certification or equivalent certifications preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience with advanced networking technologies and concepts preferred.

  • Fundamental understanding of SD-WAN, 3+ years of experience with deployment and troubleshooting of such architectures preferred.

  • 2+ years of Experience in deploying Azure and AWS (Cloud) direct connect, express routes, private links and other more advanced network centric cloud-based architectures preferred.

  • Experience with Zero Trust Networking or SASE preferred.

  • Experience with enterprise scale data centers, network topologies, and architectures preferred.

Network Automation – (Leading) The process of using software to automate network provisioning and management in order to continuously maximize network efficiency and functionality.

Network Availability Management – (Leading) The use of network monitoring to determine, in real time, whether a network is running optimally, to optimize and improve the average percentage of time during which the network is performing its intended function.

Network Environment Management – (Leading) The process of managing the network for fault and performance using various tools and technologies to keep up with the business requirements.

Network Installation & Configuration – (Leading) Configure network hardware and software components according to organizational guidelines and technical requirements. This includes the implementation and configuration of multiple servers, network devices and network management tools as well as the management of user network access to ensure stable and reliable network operations.

Network Integration – (Leading) This measures a group dispersion or how network links focus on a specific nodes.

Network Management – (Leading) The process of orchestrating network traffic and data flow across the enterprise ecosystem.

Network Performance Monitoring – (Leading) Provides the information that network administrators need to determine, in real time, whether a network is running optimally.

Network Protocols – (Leading) Sets and establishes rules that determine how data is transmitted between different devices in the same network.

Network Security Management - (Applying) The process of providing complete visibility into the network and generating data for assets (asset groupings and classifications), firewalls, applications, ports, protocols, VPNs, NAT, and security policies and vendor devices.

Network Testing - (Leading) Testing security controls across a network to identify and demonstrate vulnerabilities and determine risks.

Network Traffic Analysis – (Leading) Monitors network availability and activity to identify anomalies, including security and operational issues.

Network Transformation – (Leading) A redesign of the entire network including cloud, Wide Area Network (WAN), branch, data centers, remote user connectivity, and network security infrastructure etc.

Programming/Scripting - (Applying) Applies a computer language to communicate with computers using a set of instructions and to automate the execution of tasks.

Requirements Management - (Applying) The process of documenting, analyzing, tracing, prioritizing, and agreeing on requirements and then controlling change while also communicating to relevant stakeholders.

Troubleshooting – (Leading) The act or process of discovering and resolving problems, disputes, or mechanical issues through a systematic, usually iterative, approach.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, related field or equivalent experience. 5+ years of relevant experience
