TEKsystems Medical AR Specialist in Farmington, Connecticut

Are you looking to join a dynamic healthcare team that values patient care and efficiency? We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Billing/AR Specialist to join our growing practice. As an AR Specialist, you will play a crucial role in performing a variety of collection and investigative functions on delinquent patient account balances.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs financial investigations to determine debtors’ ability to pay

  • Sets up payment plans

  • Performs phone collections to various sources;

  • Performs mail collections by using a prescribed set of dunning and/or specialized correspondence

  • Recommends rebilling to third parties if appropriate

  • Refers accounts to outside collection agencies

  • Recommends referrals to small claims court; enters claims into small claims court

  • Completes all forms/documents relating to legal action

  • Prepares summary reports on attorney referral accounts; does batching, write-offs, determines eligibility/grant funds for Hill-Burton.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience within hospital Collections/Accounts Receivable or related

  • Experience investigating and fighting Denied Medical Claims with Commercial Insurance Carriers (United Health, Cigna, Aetna, etc.)

  • 2 years’ experience in a related position (Medical billing, insurance follow up, denials, medical claims, revenue cycle, etc.)

  • Strong understanding of insurance claims processing and reimbursement required.

  • Proficient in medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.

  • High school diploma or equivalent; certification in medical billing and coding preferred.

Details:

  • Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00am - 4:30pm

  • Pay: $22 - $24/hr.

  • Pay Cycle – Weekly | Medical, Dental & Vision Benefits offered.

  • This position requires employees to work onsite 5 days per week.
