GE Vernova Machine Shop Supervisor in Erlanger, Kentucky

Job Description Summary

The Manufacturing Supervisor for the Machining Department manages the daily operations of our Erlanger Service Center to ensure reliability and consistency across the facility while creating a safe work environment. This position is accountable for the quality of both individual and team’s work. The Machine Shop Supervisor executes their role within a variable atmosphere requiring strong communication between direct reports and other facility stakeholders.

Job Description

Your Role:

  • Oversight and management of front-line manufacturing employees by developing functional knowledge of technical disciplines.

  • Understand key business drivers and use this understanding to drive action and meet facility objectives.

  • Ensure operational alignment with production plan and KPIs.

  • Provide judgment and leverage experience of team to propose different solutions outside of standard operating procedures but with approved guidance.

  • Perform as an escalation point for problem resolution.

  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to resolve issues.

  • Manage staff resources by identifying staffing needs, recruitment, hiring, onboarding and on-going training of staff resources.

  • Instill a customer centric mindset with focus on consistent delivery on time.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college and 3+ years of professional manufacturing experience, or High School Diploma/GED with 7+ years of relevant professional experience.

  • 1+ years of experience with CNC Machining operation, principles, and practices.

  • Lean / Six Sigma training and experience in application.

  • Ability to lead staff in an industrial manufacturing setting.

  • Ability to drive results and strategic objectives.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Experience identifying, analyzing, and resolving challenges.

  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.

  • Experience managing projects by leveraging project management frameworks and methodologies.
