About the Job:

An opportunity has arisen for a Director - Engineering to join Jumeirah Beach Hotel.

The main duties and responsibilities of this role:

• Prepare the property operation for effective opening in accordance with the Jumeirah POP engineering guidelines

• Scope and manage engineering projects

• Ensure all Capital projects are conducted in line with company policies and procedures

• Supervises and directs the daily activities of the Resident Engineers/Maintenance Managers.

• Monitors engineering activities to ensure adherence to established policies, operating procedures and standards.

• Prepares comprehensive budgets and forecasts to ensure the efficient and cost effective operation of the department.

• Oversees the implementation, co-ordination and monitoring of the JEMS (Jumeirah Engineering Management System). This includes the Fire, Life and Safety Matrix, PPM and work order system

• Handles any grievances, suggestions and complaints forwarded by colleagues and recommends appropriate action.

• Responsible for appraising and formalizing career development/training plans for direct reports.

• Submits a comprehensive monthly report to the General Manager/Group Director of Engineering.

About you:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or HVAC Engineering

• Minimum of 5 Years post qualification experience in a 5 star hotel

• Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role

• Computer Literacy

• Financial Planning and Accounting

• Project management

• Experienced in Fire & Life safety systems
