Who will you be working with?

Our Doncaster team supports our customers through maintenance and operation optimisation with customised solutions for spare parts, repair and, overhaul activities on existing trains.

Role: Mechanical Engineer

Salary: £Competitive

Location: Doncaster (On-site)

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 08:00am to 16:30pm, and Friday 08:00am to 13:00pm

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Annual Leave: 25 days plus bank holidays (plus 8 bank holidays)

How will you make a difference?

To provide mechanical engineering expertise to engineering and project teams delivering rail vehicle enhancement projects and component overhaul services.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Produce designs, including but not limited to, design layouts, engineering drawings, and schematics.

  • Review engineering drawings and documents.

  • Provide risk evaluation, assessment, and mitigation evidence for mechanical safety hazards.

  • Support investigations into failures of mechanical systems and components, determine root cause, and present findings.

  • Determine and submit cost estimates for undertaking in-house and bought-in engineering services.

  • Interface with external and internal customers on engineering project progress and issues.

What do we want to know about you?

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering degree (or equivalent).

  • Experience working in design or commissioning and maintenance of mechanical systems or components.

  • Experience in the specification, design, testing, maintenance, and failure investigation of mechanical systems and components.

  • Experience in the use of Mechanical CAD systems.
