About the role

As a CBRE Construction Project Sr. Manager, you'll be responsible for multiple construction projects for large and high-profile clients.

This job is part of the Construction Management function. They are responsible for ensuring all deliverables of construction projects are completed on time.

What you’ll do

  • Manages all facets of project management (budget, schedule, procurement, quality & risk) for individual real estate projects including planning, design, construction, occupancy and closeout.

  • Demonstrates capability to read, understand and apply standard to moderately complex documents affecting real estate projects, including but not limited to: agreements/contracts, leases, work letters, project charters, surveys and drawings.

  • Interface directly with clients to define project requirements. Prepares scope of work, project delivery resource requirements, cost estimate & budget, cash flow, work plan schedule & milestones, quality control, and risk identification.

  • Identifies project delivery resources from pre-qualified lists or through individual project qualification process; conducts standard request for proposals; completes bid analysis; recommends resources to clients.

  • Lead project delivery resources/team (typically a larger more expert level team) providing project mentorship and direction to achieve project goals.

  • Implements communication plan for meetings and written reports/meeting minutes to keep client and project resources informed. Facilitates project meetings.

  • Implements project documentation governance aligned with company and Client requirements. Ensure project data integrity and documentation is accurate, timely and coordinated.

  • Tracks progress of each project against goals, objectives, approved budgets, approved timelines. Reports status and variances. Creates action plans to meet objectives, budget and schedule.

  • Implements change management routines to assess change requests, make recommendations, secure client approvals, and issue change orders. Assesses change requests to resolve impacts to scope, budget, schedule, quality and risk.

  • Demonstrate ability to identify project risks, develop risk mitigation and contingency plans, and implement action plans to reduce or eliminate project risks.

  • Apply a broad understanding of the business, own field, and how own field integrates with others to achieve team and departmental objectives.

  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Influence others to embrace a different point of view while being guided by policies and departmental plans.

  • Identify and solve technical and operational problems of complexity.

  • Understand and recognize the broader impact across the department.

  • Improve and change existing methods, processes, and standards within job field.

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 5 - 8 years of solid experience. In place of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Licensure as either a Professional Engineer or Registered Architect is desired.

  • Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred.

  • Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems.

  • Decisions made with detailed understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve results and target dates. Responsible for setting work unit and/or project target dates. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to department

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

  • Extensive interpersonal skills and a sophisticated inquisitive mindset.

Intermediate math skills. Ability to calculate complicated figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
