Job Summary and Qualifications

The Division Administrative Director of Academic Partnership and Nurse Leader Development is responsible for the development, management and execution of targeted programs to support the advancement of the nursing workforce of Medical City Healthcare. This will include forming and maintaining strategic and collaborative academic partnerships with area schools of nursing.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership, coordination and oversight of Texas Two Step and externship programs as important pipelines to fill vacant nursing positions.

  • Develops strategies and provides leadership/oversight for Dedicated Education Units within Medical City Healthcare.

  • Develops strategies and provides leadership/oversight for longitudinal cohorts within Medical City Healthcare.

  • Serves as liaison between Medical City Healthcare facilities and local nursing programs.

  • Collaborates with local nursing programs to maximize and optimize clinical rotations and enhance graduate preparedness.

  • Maintains and enhances relationships within the expectations of HCA preferred academic partners to support the education needs of the nursing workforce.

  • Collaborates with division and facility leadership to develop retention strategies for new graduates.

  • Regularly monitors data and outcomes of existing programs for presentation to Medical City Healthcare leaders and schools of nursing.

  • Regularly analyzes data and makes recommendations for improvement of outcomes.

  • Maintains active role in the North Texas Academic and Service Consortium on Nursing Competencies.

  • Maintains active role in the DFWHC Foundation.

  • Fosters a culture that inspires commitment to the mission, vision and values of the organization; ensures employees are recognized, valued and supported.

  • Identifies development opportunities or training needs of individual employees and teams; provides coaching, feedback and training to improve performance.

This position supports the mission of Medical City Healthcare by optimizing quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person.

What qualifications you will need:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required.

  • Master’s degree in Nursing or Education preferred.

  • 5+ years’ experience in acute care facility leadership role required.

  • 3-5 years of experience in healthcare education required.

Licenses, Certifications and Training:

  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Texas.

  • Nursing Professional Development certification through American Nurses Credentialing Center or NPD certification preferred.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.

  • Demonstrates good organizational skills.

  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in oral, written and electronic formats with both internal and external customers.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to use spreadsheet software to enter, evaluate and modify data.
