Your goal will be to ensure that the Coolock maintenance & support activities, are without interruption, in terms of plant engineering performance and facilities infrastructure.

You are responsible for the management of the sites engineering (hardware and software), facilities assets and teams. You will be a member of the sites senior leadership team and will lead the Progressive maintenance (PM) Pillar for the integrated Lean six sigma programme (IL6S).

How you will contribute :

  • Own and drive the overall maintenance strategy and structure for Coolock Manufacturing site (24 x 7) according to Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Sustainability and Engagement goals.

  • Provide effective leadership within the full maintenance department consisting of Maintenance Technicians, Plant Reliability Engineers, Automations Engineers, Maintenance Planner, and Facilities Manager.

  • Drive ‘Plant Reliability’ for the site and engage effectively with manufacturing operations team in developing and delivering the maintenance strategy and the reliability process

  • Lead and be accountable for Building Maintenance program, facilities maintenance program, driving contract improvements and cost savings where possible.

  • Provide leadership, strategy and coaching to the engineering team towards implementation of IL6S ways of working including delivering zero breakdowns, preventive/predictive maintenance strategies, Progressive Maintenance (PM) including Condition Based Monitoring (CBM), Visual controls & tools Mgmt., Lubrication mgmt. and Calibration of equipment.

  • Optimises the performance of the operation through the delivery of benefits from productivity improvement and ensures projects are completed in line with change control procedures and engineering and compliance standards.

  • Manage and forecast the fixed cost budget / spend in the area

  • Own contractor control within manufacturing unit trough the Plant reliability teams and facilities Manager.

  • Partner with internal & external stakeholders and service providers to deliver the agenda.

  • Lead change programmes and manage day to day Industrial relations within the engineering function.

What you will bring

A desire to drive your future and accelerate your career and the following experience and knowledge:

  • Strong operational & manufacturing leadership experience, preferably within the FMCG industry with experience across, TPM-Total productive maintenance, 5s, LEAN 6 sigma tools and concepts, Health, Safety & GMP standards.

  • An Engineer with a strong financial & business acumen, project management and problem-solving skills. Strong knowledge of industrial maintenance and manufacturing equipment, PM expertise and Spare parts management.

  • Excellent communication (verbal & written). Demonstrable coaching and leadership skills with a proven track record in leading large teams and the management of a sites overall industrial relations environment is highly desirable.
