Inspection Risk Analyst

Indorama Integrated Oxides & Derivatives is currently looking for a Risk Based Inspection subject matter expert for the region. Ensure plant fixed equipment inspection schedules align with the principles of risk-based inspection and any company directives. Provide assistance and guidance to Inspectors regarding the application of risk-based inspection process for risk management.

What will be expected from you?

  • Provide assistance in the development, reporting and keeping the RBI (Risk Based Inspection) program up to date.

  • Develop procedures and workflows to implement RBI process and continuously improve program effectiveness.

  • Develop and implement strategies in utilizing RBI data to plan and prioritize routine maintenance and T&I activities and schedules in accordance with the Site's Risk Target and Risk Threshold boundaries.

  • Facilitate RBI Program involvement of personnel from different departments, such as Operations, Process Engineering, PSM, Maintenance, Reliability and Inspection.

  • Perform internal audits to identify effectiveness and accuracy of the ASINT software tool.

  • Mentor less experienced ASINT users.

  • Perform equipment criticality assessments based on results of field inspections and tests.

  • Determine if follow-up inspection is required prior to completion of inspection tasks.

  • Establishing extent and frequency of the fixed equipment inspections based on criticality assessments.

  • Communicate changes in risk to area managers.

  • Provide input to turnaround scope development.

  • Coordinate document management and risk analysis activities during turnarounds and other maintenance outages.

  • Oversee data entry task assignments.

  • Perform what-if analyses for deferral requests.

  • Relief for Inspectors.

  • Provide technical expertise to the region.

  • Ensure that the activities are carried out to comply with the integrated management system, as applicable (safety, food safety, GMP, health, environmental, quality and responsible care requirements).

  • Essential functions require presence in the workplace on a regular basis and an ability to work extra hours if needed. If applicable, ability to work overtime may be needed to ensure required staffing capacity to meet daily production objectives.

  • Work collaboratively with team members with different backgrounds and perspectives.

  • Assists other employees in accomplishments of Indorama company goals. Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.

  • Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company. Participates in and completes company required training programs.

What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?

  • 5+ years’ experience with a Risk Based Inspection program.

  • Bachelors in an appropriate technical degree preferred, but not required.

  • High school diploma or equiv and 10 years in inspection industry preferred , minimum of 5 years as API Inspector and relevant inspection related activities required.

  • API Certified Inspector (API 510 or API 570 preferred).

  • API 580 Certification.

  • MUST HAVE or be able to obtain a TWIC card.

  • Must have a level of proficiency with SAP, Internet, Email, and Microsoft programs.

  • Must have a thorough understanding of applicable ASME, API and OSHA codes and standards.

  • Must have a thorough understanding of the RBI concepts and the functional use of Risk Based software tools.

  • Experience with ASINT RBI software .

  • Working knowledge of API 571 Damage Mechanisms Affecting Fixed Equipment in the Refining Industry, API 580 Risk Based Inspection, API 581 Risk Based Inspection Technology and other inspection related codes.

  • Familiarity and applied working knowledge of API 571 is preferred.
