Mississippi Employer Purchase Clerk in Clarksdale, Mississippi

Job Description:

  • Process approved requisitions and initiate purchase orders following board and department polices and good business practices. Purchase Clerk: Process approved requisitions thus communication with vendors and department heads. Prepare, maintain and review purchasing files and reports. Conduct regular reviews of vendors accreditation to ensure getting the most economical and cost effective supplies by comparing contractual and bid price with prevailing competitive prices. Monitor status for requisitions, contracts and bid prices with prevailing competitive prices. Post order costs in appropriate accounting systems. Generate and submit budget reports to departments. Prepare and submit to receiving clerk and inventory clerk copies of receiving reports for all inventory items. Reconciles purchase orders with receiving reports for payment. Manage Bids. Performs general office duties. Other job duties as assigned by the County Administrator. 

     

  • College degree preferred; Minimum High School Diploma. The purchase clerk must successfully complete the professional education program offered for purchase clerks within one (1) year after being appointed.

  • Must be able to successfully pass a drug screening, background check, posseess a vaild license, and must be bondable.
