Description

The Engineering Test Technician assists Product Engineers in various tasks required for successful development of pneumatic & electric power tools and accessories. These tasks include: product testing and documenting, prototype assembly, fixture design, troubleshooting lab equipment failures, ensuring equipment calibration, general engineering lab organization and maintenance. Additionally, this position will assist Product Engineers maintain production of legacy designs by trouble shooting production issues as they arise and making corrective action recommendations to product engineer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Perform and record power sound, vibration, thermal, and drop testing per applicable ISO test protocol on existing products and products in development.

· Assist with testing throughout the development process. During the develop process there may be repeated requests to conduct the testing mentioned above required for CE certification.

· When requested conduct and record the same type testing mentioned above of competitive products.

· Maintain a test specification master list of all tools offered for sale by Dynabrade, data to include: power, sound, vibration, thermal, and drop testing.

· Responsible for maintaining a log of equipment in Engineering Lab complete with a calibration schedule and status. Responsibilities include overseeing that the equipment is sent out in a timely fashion to maintain calibration, allowances are to be made if the equipment is required in house due to the urgency of a project.

· Responsible for keeping test equipment in good repair as well as organizing and maintaining lab in a professional manner.

· Throughout development process work with engineers to gain understanding of design and assembly techniques of the tool.

· May be asked by product engineer to help in the design of assembly tooling or assist in the development of an assembly method.

· Aid Engineering staff in troubleshooting production issues.

· Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience

· AAS in Mechanical Technology minimum.

· 5 years’ work experience as an Engineering Technician.

Good technical writing skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Strong mechanical aptitude.

Ability to create and read engineering drawings.

Working knowledge of SolidWorks.

Basic machining skills example: lathe or mill operations.

Knowledge of programable logic controller (PLC’s)

Proven team player who proactively communicates with all stake holders.

Salary Description

$24.00 to $27.00 per hour
