Position Summary

The primary purpose of Application Support Specialist position is to support the company’s enterprise HCM PeopleSoft application software. The primary support includes extensive knowledge of Global Payroll and Absence Management configuration and processing procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL

  • Responsible for the full life cycle testing of new configuration, bundles, tax updates and customizations.

  • Provide input on design scope and requirements for new development or modifications to PeopleSoft modules.

  • Function as the first line of support for global payroll and human resources with regard to the development of configuration required to support their operational needs.

  • Guide the business toward best practice design and configuration, provide input on scope and make requirements for ongoing rollouts or modifications to the existing global payroll and absence management module.

  • Assist in testing new configuration for PeopleSoft global payroll and absence management in a development environment.

  • Manage production support issue resolution and act as the liaison between the payroll department and other it colleagues.

  • Review and refine all requests for global payroll configuration setup or changes

  • Develop detailed specification documents for new development or modifications

  • Build and test configuration and development changes

  • Train business users in testing all configuration changes and global payroll functionality

  • Liason with payroll and HR

  • Assist in all production support

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position has NO direct supervisory responsibilities

Reporting Relationship

  • This position will report to the Principal Analyst - HCM

Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • BS Degree in a related field (Computer Science, MIS) or equivalent education and experience

  • 5+ years working as a support analyst for the PeopleSoft HCM global enterprise application

  • Familiar with other PeopleSoft modules – HCM, Global Payroll, and Absence Management

  • Familiar with Peopletools/Peoplecode

  • Extensive knowledge of global payroll, absence management and year-end tax processing procedures and the configurations that support those functions.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word

DESIRED

  • Experience with other country extensions is a plus (UK and India)

  • SQL skills is an advantage

  • Ability to analyze and document configuration change requests from the business

  • Ability to operate in a team environment

  • Possess excellent communication skills – verbal and written

Working Conditions

This position is considered OFFICE WORK which is characterized as follows.

  • Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night

  • Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the work place

  • Work surface is stable (flat)
