Eaton’s IS AER ITD Aerospace division is currently seeking a OPEX Leader.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $105225.03 - $154330.04 a year.

What you’ll do:

The Operational Excellence Leader is responsible for coordinating plant site continues improvement initiatives to enhance the overall effectiveness of manufacturing operations, achieve operational excellence and variation reduction. The Operational Excellence Leader will execute lean manufacturing and fulfillment strategy for process improvement, inventory reduction, through the optimization of resources and reduce overall cost. Operational Excellence Leader is responsible to contribute to the business organization with the implementation of the Eaton Business System.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

A. Lead lean manufacturing initiatives to enhance the overall effectiveness of manufacturing operations and achieve operational excellence. Development/execution of strategic plans for implementation of ELSS in facility based upon lean assessment.

B. Conduct training needs assessment associated with ELSS. Coordinate and deliver required ELSS as appropriate

C. Leads or facilitates projects or events such as shop floor and variation reduction Kaizens

D. Implements effective measurement tools associated with continuous improvement and cost out. Contributes heavily in the identification of cost-out ideas and implementation of the ideas.

E. Represents plant in division councils or work teams as appropriate.

F. Drive core functional excellence in implementing: Eaton Business System (EBS), Lean, Six Sigma, OpA, CIF, EBS Pull and other world-class operation management techniques.

G. Personally lead change to improve organizational effectiveness. Drive the change management necessary to implement effective lean manufacturing operations.

H. Comply and support the implementation and improvement effort to the Quality Management Systems (EQS) and AS9100 and coordinate the efforts of the internal quality audits.

I. Contributes to overall profitability and growth objectives through the management of Eaton’s lean processes, continuous improvement efforts, and continuous improvement culture advancement.

J. Drive and maintain an atmosphere for Continuous Improvement and Error Proofing through the implementation of six sigma/lean production methodology in order to accomplish division goals.

K. Monitors overall performance toward plant objectives for ELSS activities. Creates action plans and follow-up on work assignments based on these activities. Updates Lean tracker and responsible for completion of planned kaizen events.

L. Apply lean manufacturing techniques as a means to eliminate waste and deliver products to meet customer expectations.

M. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by developing actions plans that foster communication and knowledge transfer throughout the organization.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field from accredited college/university.

• 5+ years of experience in Quality / continuous improvement within manufacturing engineering.

• Experience leading technical teams and projects.

• Experience leading manufacturing Kaizen events.

• Proven and solid experience in AutoCAD

• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future. • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). • Relocation is not available for this role, candidates must reside within 50 miles of Camarillo , California.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related Engineering.

• Previous experience within Aerospace sector.

• Cost Out projects experience.

• Experience in designing and implementing fixtures.

• Lean manufacturing experience (VSM, TPM, 5S, SMED, Poka Yoke, etc)

• Statistical tools knowledge (Six Sigma)

• Solving Problem techniques (5 Why's, 8D's, etc.)

• Perform activities according to Quality policies (EQMS).

• Complete annual review of functional procedures.

• Active participation in customer and quality system audits.

• Responsibility for Continuous Improvement

• Carry out continuous improvement activities through the deployment and use of Eaton Business System policies and processes such as ELSS, CIF, PRO-Launch, EQS and other applicable.

• Project management knowledge

• Excellent English verbal/ written communication skills.

• Fluent in English/Spanish.
