Logistics Coordinator

Position Description

Job Summary

Job Summary:

The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for providing support to the Purchasing and Logistics Supervisor. This will include preparing, routing and managing customer orders. Main duties will include reviewing shipments, collaboration with transportation systems, monitoring shipment pick-ups, shipment costs, productivity processes and maintaining flow of final products to customers. Communication between production, sales and distribution stages is a must to promote a healthy and efficient supply chain.

Essential Functions:

Account Management Support

  • Supports Coordinate shipments with customer.

  • Works with Purchasing & Transportation leadership to coordinate Customer Calls and maintain Communication

  • Responsible for assisting with shipment setup and routing on multiple platforms.

  • Reporting as required

Exports Air/Ocean

  • Assist with coordinating transportation providers to ensure prompt and proper movement of shipments

  • Responding to customer inquiries and referring clients to the proper channels

  • Reviewing purchase orders and shipping documents to ensure accuracy

  • Making special shipping arrangements as necessary

  • Tracking and fixing shipping errors

  • Preparing bills and invoices

  • Ensuring that the quality of all services provided meets the required standard

Transportation

  • Full understanding of inbound and outbound Inco terms and documentation requirements to include (Shippers Letters of Instruction), Commercial Invoices, Certificates of Origin, Inland Bills of lading and Pack Lists, AEB review for imports (company names, owners, location, etc.).

  • Assist in Coordination of domestic outbound.

  • Ex-works international shipment documentation (working with customer forwarder documentation)

  • Review Customer Orders, Coordinate Domestic and International shipment of goods

  • Provide Domestic and International Logistics support

  • Assist with Export 3PL to ensure proactive brokerage support

  • Ensure Compliance to Company, State and Federal Requirements

Continuous Improvement Activities

  • Drive Improvements through the application of Digital & LEAN Methodologies

  • Assist in Measuring and Reducing gaps in the Shipment and Routing Process

  • Assist with Customer Complaints

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree - Supply Chain or Logistics - Preferred

  • Manufacturing - Previous work in 24/7/365 manufacturing environment - Required

  • 5 years Supply Chain or Logistics - Supply chain or manufacturing experience. - Required

  • ERP and CMMC Systems - Required

  • Inco-Terms - Required
