Reporting to the Vice President of Philanthropy & External Relations, the Alumni Relations Manager is responsible for developing a culture of continuous engagement, outreach and driving philanthropy with alumni. The Alumni Relations Manager will strategically engage alumni in the life of the College while managing programs and activities that provide tangible benefits to alumni and students. The individual is responsible for implementing creative and meaningful alumni outreach strategies that have major impact college-wide.
The Alumni Relations Manager duties include but are not limited to:
-Manage College's Alumni relations Office, including budget and other related administrative responsibilities.
-Manage the alumni database; capture targeted lists for engagement activities; segment data to personalize outreach to different groups of constituents to maximize responses.
-Recommend strategies, programs, events, stewardship incentives and plans to increase involvement among alumni, with support from the Communications and Development Offices.
-Develop material, marketing plans, and organizing programs and events to cultivate, and leverage support from alumni.
-Monitor trends to increase alumni engagement and make recommendations to staff and senior leadership for enhancement or changes.
-Collaborate with Vice President on assignments including gathering information for newsletters, electronic communications, and the alumni-oriented social media platforms.
-Drafting all alumni related content and information for online/print distribution and assist in developing marketing, branding, and communication strategies to inspire, mobilize, and sustain alumni engagement and philanthropic support.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree and six years' related experience required.
Preferred qualifications:
Excellent organizational, communicational, analytical and negotiation skills
Familiarity with the fundamentals of fundraising
-Excellent strategic and management skills with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
throughout the college, volunteers, alumni, donors, and other constituents.
-Demonstrably strong writing, planning, marketing, communications and organizational skills.
- Availability to work evening and weekend hours when required
CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW
Manages College's alumni relations activities and promotes an active and engaged alumni base.
Implements and monitors comprehensive alumni relations program; makes recommendations to improve department policies and procedures
Participates in developing strategy; oversees programmatic and administrative support to increase involvement among alumni
Develops and manages an annual schedule of reunion events and other alumni activities; oversees alumni communications
Works collaboratively with other areas of the College to promote and improve alumni participation
Prepares reports and presentations evaluating outcomes of department events and activities
Cultivates and maintains relationships with alumni donors and volunteers
Supervises office operations; administers department and/or events budget(s)
May manage professional and/or clerical staff
Performs related duties as assigned.

$82,928 - $93,491
