Colleague Development Manager

Are you experienced in coaching, mentoring, and developing colleagues?

Do you possess experience or knowledge in Pensions?

This role is hybrid, offering the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Birmingham or Sheffield office.

What the day will look like

  • Responsibility for improving the colleague experience at Aon, by developing talent at all levels to maximise our potential.

  • Owning and driving development activities across locations in order to ensure clear and consistent development plans are in place for all colleagues.

  • Developing and maintaining our new joiner induction program keeping on top of industry changes to ensure training remains relevant.

  • Analysing performance and quality data in order to drive training and performance priorities i.e. E&O trends.

  • Design and deliver all colleague training & development on industry changes and projects i.e. GMP, Pensions Dashboards.

  • Develop case studies and training material to assist with risk mitigation and continuous development.

  • Provide mentor support to managers and junior colleagues and act as a buddy to junior colleagues to ensure clear objectives are provided and training is understood.

  • Supporting performance feedback conversations and gathering 360 feedback on colleague performance.

  • Supporting the goal setting process and end of year performance process to ensure consistent feedback is provided to colleagues in line with performance ratings.

  • Work with Team Managers to ensure completion of skills matrices and ensure plans are in place to expand knowledge.

  • Working with Team Managers to ensure clear succession planning is in place in line with colleague skills.

  • Provide regular feedback and reporting to local management teams setting out key areas of concern and training requirements.

  • Assisting the management teams to improve processing times and productivity through identification of non standard processes and training requirements.

  • Supporting the recruitment process and assisting with attracting the best external talent

  • Supporting the transition of work between locations and ensuring processes and best practice are captured in a clear and concise format.

  • Support colleagues to attain professional qualifications.

    Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Experience in pensions is preferred but not essential.

  • A background in coaching, mentoring, colleague development would be highly beneficial

  • Proven record of problem solving and a strong focus on solutions and delivery

  • Highly organised and able to demonstrate keen attention to record keeping.

  • Proven examples of successfully implementing change solutions with results.

  • Experience of performance management using data analytics.
