Philips Senior Software Designer - FORS Engine in Best, Netherlands

Join us at Philips as a Senior Software Designer, where you'll play a pivotal role in disrupting Medtech and enhancing patient care through innovative solutions. You'll be responsible for designing and implementing software solutions for data acquisition, processing, and service UI, contributing to our mission of revolutionizing minimally invasive procedures in Image Guided Therapy.

As part of a dynamic and customer-centric team, you'll drive creativity, fast decision-making, and high-quality development within an agile environment. Your contributions will directly impact the advancement of medical software standards and the improvement of patient outcomes worldwide.

Your role:

  • Deliver technical solutions conforming to requirements with a focus on end-users, high quality (QMS/regulatory standards), performance, safety, and security.

  • Create high-quality software via feature-driven development in an agile approach.

  • Participate in the end-to-end Software process including design, coding, documentation, testing (automated), releases, and maintenance of medical software according to the IEC 62304 standard.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the team, software, and processes.

  • Stay abreast of technical knowledge and industry trends by studying and implementing state-of-the-art programming techniques and development tools.

  • Participate in educational opportunities, communities of practice, reading professional publications, and maintaining personal networks.

  • Join sprint planning, stand-up meetings, sprint reviews, sprint retrospectives, and backlog refinement.

You're the right fit if:

  • Possess a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in an agile environment, ideally within the Medtech or healthcare industry.

  • Educational background includes a BSc/MSc in SW engineering, informatics, or equivalent field, complemented by significant experience in software design and development.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in C#, .NET, WPF, and C++ programming languages, with expertise in multi-threading software design and hardware control.

  • Have a result-driven, hands-on mentality with an entrepreneurial spirit, showing potential for growth into a lead designer role.

  • Preferred knowledge/experience includes familiarity with MATLAB, real-time data processing, and medical device software development standards and compliance.
