Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Be responsible for defining, developing, and evolving test and automation strategies in a fast paced and agile development environment using the latest software development technologies and infrastructure

  • Provide technical leadership to an agile team of 3-5 engineers

  • Work with Product Line Leaders (PLLs) to understand product requirements & vision

  • Translate requirements/vision into prioritized list of user stories, test and automation scope and deliver to required timelines and quality standards

  • Work with product line leaders and architects to develop multi generation software technology test plans

  • Drive increased efficiency across the teams, eliminating duplication, leveraging product and technology reuse

  • Support process improvements which guide the development, sustaining & support activities

  • Work cross functionally with other business departments to align activities and deliverables

  • Drive world-class quality in the development and support of products

  • Engage subject matter experts in successful transfer of complex domain knowledge

  • Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques

Education Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with minimum 12+ years of experience.

Desired Characteristics

Technical Expertise :

  • Has extensive experience in test automation

  • Expert in developing and executing maintainable automation tests for acceptance, functional, and regression test cases.

  • Skilled in integrating project testing with continuous-integration process.

  • Experience in defining system design, verification and validation strategy, implementation and release

  • Selenium/Python based scripting and automation with CI/CD integration and DevOps

  • End to End automation for AWS / Kubernetes / microservices based API deployments

  • Deep experience in NFR testing (e.g Scalability, Reliability, Performance etc) optimization and reporting, on AWS

  • Working knowledge of configuration choices and related cost implications; Experience with complex solution configurations.

  • Able to lead early stage customer interactions; Guide customers as they develop confidence and comfort with approaches, and integrate with their legacy tech investments.

Business Acumen:

  • Excellent problem solving abilities and capable of articulating specific technical topics or assignments

  • Experience in building scalable and highly available distributed systems

  • Expert in breaking down problems and estimate time for development tasks

  • Evangelizes how our technology solves customer problems from a technology and business perspective

Leadership:

  • Demonstrates clarity of thinking to work through limited information and vague problem definitions

  • Influences through others; builds direct and "behind the scenes" support for ideas

  • Proactively identifies and removes project obstacles or barriers on behalf of the team

  • Shares knowledge, power, and credit, establishing trust, credibility, and goodwill

  • Able to work under minimal supervision

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with senior leadership with confidence and clarity

  • Able to work well with global teams, including time-zone flexibility

  • Skilled in providing oversight and mentoring team members. Shows ability to effectively delegate work.
