Job Description Summary

As a Sr Manager -Quality Assurance Engineering Designs you will program, document, tests, and fixes bugs involved in creating and maintaining applications and frameworks involved in a software release lifecycle resulting in a digital product. Impacts approaches, projects and programs in the functional area or affected business organization and ways of working. Impacts quality, efficiency and effectiveness of own team. Has significant input into priorities. Guided by professional practices and policies that are shaped by the role. The role has moderate autonomy, requiring high levels of operational judgment.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement testing strategies.

  • Create test scenarios to cover requirements and ensure that testing process follow test plans

  • Assess effectiveness of the process and implement changes to enhance the efficiency of the testing process.

  • Collaborate with developers, project managers, product managers and other stakeholders to ensure that the release goals are well understood, and testing is aligned with requirements.

  • Track and monitor testing metrices, defect burn downs and testing progress.

  • Lead test team members, tool and processes within test team

  • Drive automation and strive to improve quality, coverage and effectiveness

  • Ensure all test deliverables are of quality and compliance to GEHC QMS guidelines.

  • Comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this position.

  • Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required.

  • Responsible for testing a product or products, developing test plans, test cases and automating test cases using the latest technologies. Understand how the product will be used by the customer and develop test cases based on the product usage. Understand the architecture of the product being developed and understand the dependencies between different components.

  • o Change addresses all interfacing components and systems.o Assigning the appropriate CID reviewers & approvers

  • Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.

  • Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrate with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market

  • Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.

  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).

Required Skills:

  • Experience in healthcare technologies like HL7 & DICOM Digital Imaging and Communications in Imaging.

  • Familiar with Continuous Integration & Continuous deployment CI /CD - DevOps using Jenkins, GIT

  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience as Software Engineer or Quality Engineer

  • 3+ years of Management and performance appraisal experience

  • Proficient in software development lifecycle and development methodologies

  • Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, tools, and processes

  • Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize.

  • Experience working in projects with emphasis on performance and security.

  • Experience with multiple operating systems

  • Experience managing distributed test teams.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience working on software projects in the Healthcare Domain
