Oracle Database Administrator 2-IT in BENGALURU, India

Job Description

As a Senior Database Administrator, you will assist in the support of Oracle 12c and 19C Databases on LINUX, and HPUX platforms. This role is responsible for providing database support, performance tuning, and technology upgrades on Oracle 12c and 19C in both an online-transactional and online-analytical processing environment. This team will require you to manage the stability and uptime of client databases in relation to service-level agreements in place. A core function of this role is to troubleshoot and research issues related to database performance, query performance, space management, and other technical issues, which may require working with Oracle Support. You will have the opportunity to work on projects to improve automation, operation stability, and performance by researching new features and functionality with each Oracle release. The DBA will be responsible for ensuring database configurations, processes, and jobs comply with published standards and policies. Communication will be a key component as you will be interacting with internal/external individuals at various levels concerning technical and non-technical issues related to Oracle database infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

4- 6 years of DBA experience

Ability to work off-hours when required.

Experience with RDBMS technologies: Predominantly in Oracle and MS SQL Server. knowledge on Mysql, Mongo and Postgres is added advantage.

Experience with Oracle RAC installation. Upgrade, Migration

Experience with Oracle GoldenGate installation, Administration and troubleshooting

Monitor & troubleshoot databases, alerts, backups, and performance issues

Familiar with handling any of these databases on Unix and Windows Operating Systems.

Database project implementations

Familiar with any change and problem management process.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of Oracle RAC database administration

Implementation of Stand by databases / Data Guard will be an add-on.

Perform database rollouts, releases, upgrades, and/or application performance management projects.

Identify, troubleshoot and resolve database problems.

Knowledge of Golden Gate replication technology.

Performing OS (Linux, Windows) activities that are related to the database.

OCP, MCP certifications are preferred.

Expectations:

Provide 12x7 production database on-call support

Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects simultaneously

Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations

Ability to learn new processes, tools, and technologies as required

Perform other responsibilities as assigned

Provide Development and Production support for databases. This includes creating primary database storage structures; designing and creating primary objects; modifying database structure as necessary for enhancements or performance; monitoring and optimizing performance of the database; planning for backup and recovery of the database; allocating system storage and planning future storage needs; and creating database-related scripts and programs to support development and production environments.
