What you'll be doing...

As a Data Science Senior Manager (Base Marketing) you will work cross functionally with stakeholders in Sales, Operations, Marketing, IT, Operations, Finance to support complete business cases and well as operational plans. You believe that solid data should be behind every important decision. You are a numbers person but you also have a strategic mindset. You bring both business perspective and an understanding of the marketplace-and not just theory and numbers. You have a knack for understanding and presenting information that is consumable for various audiences, not just lingo and industry speak. You are a team player that is able to work cross functionally, motivate individuals inter/intra organization while meeting business objectives, in a timely manner.

Responsibilities include:

  • Tracking and understanding all incremental cost offers currently in market. Trend historic performance, forecast future costs.

  • Identifying strengths and weaknesses in financial performance and recommend optimizations.

  • Presenting roadmap to executive leadership to ensure understanding and alignment VBM strategy.

  • Partnering with internal and external stakeholders to develop unique promo campaigns that will differentiate Verizon in the industry while driving growth.

  • Using SQL/Teradata, design up front statistical analytics plans, ensuring ability to quantify gains and test/learn new variances of existing strategies.

  • Using SQL and Teradata to mine the base, optimize targets to align to business goals and key metrics, including but not limited to price plan step ups, retention opportunities, determining ROI variables, optimizing customer treatment metrics and finally accountability for results that are achieved.

  • Building, automating, and monitoring data warehouse processes via SQL queries which qualify customers for these strategies.

  • Deciphering performance across a variety of metrics: i.e. KPIs, LNP, Segmentation, Propensity, etc. to uncover new opportunities for growth and revenue from the Verizon base.

  • Presenting recommendations for strategy improvements and provide strong justifying evidence to defend these recommendations.

  • Gaining alignment across work groups and implement these changes.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Experience using SQL/Teradata, design up front statistical analytics plans, ensuring ability to quantify gains and test/learn new variances of existing strategies.

Even better if you have:

  • Three or more years of experience in the wireless industry is preferred.

  • Experience in Tableau development or similar visualization tools preferred.

  • Experience in Teradata TRM/CIM or similar campaign design tool preferred.

  • Exceptional skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Proven strengths in analytics and critical thinking.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

  • Ability to work, problem solve, and lead independently.

  • Ability and interest in solving problems never before faced with no prior examples to reference for guidance.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously through multitasking, prioritization, and negotiating expectations.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island or Washington work location, the compensation range for this position is between $137,000.00 and $255,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
