We are looking for a passionate and talented Software Development Manager with experience leading engineering team to build innovative and highly scalable applications that customers love. As the leader of the Trust engineering team you will be responsible for building a strong engineering team and lead the team on the design, implementation and launch of many key features and fundamental infrastructure for Trust experiences. You will define overall technical vision and strategy for Alexa Trust experiences engineering team.

  • You're active in delivery with your team, influencing your team's priorities with data, and providing your engineers feedback on their proposed technical designs.

  • You're effective partnering with peer teams towards a common goal. This team exists at the center of the Alexa Responsible AI and Trust experiences, and will often partner with other teams on joint initiatives. As you do this, you build open and positive relationships with your internal peers.

  • You have a passion for reliability, staying ahead of operational risks before they become issues. You do this first and foremost to ensure a great customer experience, but also to ensure your team's work life balance is protected.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience

  • 7+ years of engineering experience

  • 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience

  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy

  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

  • Master's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent
