GCyber Rapid Response Sr. Network Engineer in Arlington, Virginia

GCyber is currently seeking a highly skilled Rapid Response Sr. Network Engineer to lead our team in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of our network infrastructure within a dynamic and complex DoD environment. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of network engineering principles, coupled with a proactive approach to troubleshooting and network optimization.

As a Rapid Response Sr. Network Engineer, you will:

 

  • Lead rapid response initiatives for network issues, providing swift resolutions to maintain operational integrity across a large-scale network infrastructure.

  • Act as a subject-matter expert in the configuration, installation, and troubleshooting of various network devices and services, including routers and switches.

  • Oversee the design and architecture of routed and switched networks, ensuring they meet current and emergent design principles and protocols.

  • Monitor network performance and resource utilization closely, employing trending and capacity planning techniques to preemptively address potential issues.

  • Implement and manage network virtualization technologies to enhance efficiency, security, and scalability within the network infrastructure.

  • Navigate multi-tenant network architectures, ensuring robustness and reliability across various operational environments.

  • Maintain an in-depth familiarity with a broad spectrum of network routing and switching equipment from multiple vendors, adapting to diverse technological ecosystems.

  • Develop and apply scripting and coding solutions for network threshold events, enhancing automation and operational efficiency.

  • Provide expert guidance and mentorship to less-experienced IT staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.

  • Collaborate with the security team to proactively identify and remediate vulnerabilities, ensuring the highest standards of network security and compliance.

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance, demonstrating a high level of trust and security clearance.

  • BS in Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred, highlighting advanced knowledge and expertise.

  • 7+ years in a primary role focused on the operation, troubleshooting, and installation of network routers and switches, showcasing hands-on technical proficiency.

  • 7+ years of experience in designing and architecting routed and switched networks, indicating a strong capability in network planning and implementation.

  • Extensive experience within a DoD environment, with a comprehensive understanding of its unique operational requirements and standards.

  • Possession of at least one nationally recognized certification for senior network administrators/engineers/architects related to the network infrastructure in use.

  • IAT Level III certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M, with a requirement to obtain certification within 120 days after the start of the BPA PoP, ensuring compliance with DoD directives.
