Summary
The University of Michigan, School of Nursing (UMSN), Office of Undergraduate Studies is seeking an Undergraduate Clinical Placement & Community Partnership Coordinator. This position will identify, develop, and coordinate needed clinical placements external to Michigan Medicine for all undergraduate students at the School of Nursing
Responsibilities*
Report on clinical placement status and maintain accurate and timely working documents as placements are secured.
Collaborate with faculty and students as needed to maintain placements aligned with student learning needs.
Develop and oversee communication strategies to keep faculty, staff, and students informed about external clinical placements in the Undergraduate Program.
Work closely with the Undergraduate Leadership team to contribute to the development and implementation of innovative models for clinical placements.
Actively participate in discussions and initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality and diversity of placement opportunities.
Monitor and report on clinical site agreement deadlines and renewals.
Organize and oversee processes and procedures to ensure ongoing evaluation of preceptors and clinical placement sites, working with faculty to assess for potential areas of concern and to develop appropriate quality improvement action plans.
Foster and cultivate relationships with clinical partners across the State of Michigan in collaboration with faculty and administration.
Leverage existing partnerships and collaborate with the School of Nursing faculty to secure new clinical placements for students.
Assist in the planning and execution of preceptor recognition programs, events, and training initiatives to acknowledge and support the valuable contributions of preceptors.
Supervision is received from the Director(s) of Undergraduate Nursing Education
Required Qualifications*
A Bachelor's degree is required.
Experience in a clinical environment in a large, complex healthcare system is advantageous (e.g., RN) preferred.
This position requires collaboration with outside agencies to build strong working relationships and to increase clinical placement opportunities for undergraduate students. Sales and marketing experience is preferred.
Demonstrated proficiency at the advanced level with Microsoft Office products (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Candidate must have high-level project management expertise and excellent communication skills, with the ability to receive and convey information clearly and concisely for various mediums.
Demonstrated ability with databases and data systems; experience in handling and presenting data.
Strong relationship-building skills are essential, including a positive communication style and the ability to work collaboratively with others.
Demonstrated ability to collect, manage, analyze, and prepare data for presentation to a variety of audiences.
Must demonstrate great attention to detail.
Must be able to demonstrate flexibility in rapidly changing situations and changing information and data.
Must be able to plan, implement, and evaluate projects.
Must reliably coordinate multiple responsibilities and manage time effectively.
Excellent judgment with a professional demeanor and presentation.
Demonstrated excellent problem-solving, decision-making, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
Working knowledge of applicable University policies and procedures is preferred.
Must be able to work independently as well as effectively in teams.

Work Schedule
8:00a.m.-5:00p.m.,MondaythroughFriday;someoccasionalweekendand evening hours may be required.Currently, this position has the option to be hybrid; and will be reviewed annually per the university and School of Nursing policy.
