CBRE Data Centre Solutions a division of Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated data centre services including advisory, projects and operations. We are recruiting a Project Engineer/Analyst to support the growth of our projects business and the continued path towards cloud based project management systems.

The purpose of the role is to:

  • The Project Engineer is responsible for assisting our PM’s with all aspects of our projects. This includes involvement at all key stages of the projects; Mobilisations, Delivery, Cost Control & Close-Out.

  • Project Engineer will be tasked with ensuring our projects are mobilised and maintained on our cloud platform management systems to drive efficiencies and compliance.

  • As a highly motivated individual with very good organization, technical, and communication skills, you will work with a team of professionals to deliver superior service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mobilise all new projects onto our Quantum management system.

  • Mobilise all new projects onto AutoDesk Construction Cloud where required.

  • Manage and monitor Quantum on all our live projects to drive efficiencies and ensure optimum results.

  • Work with the QS Team to ensure all project Cost Plans are updated each week on Quantum.

  • Work closely with the project managers to develop, maintain and manage project schedules.

  • Formulate & issue weekly client Progress Reports.

  • Manage the Project Monitoring Checklists to ensure project compliance on Commercials, H&S, Execution and Quality Assurance.

  • Participate in regular project team meetings across multiple projects.

  • Ensure that all projects are being scheduled and forecast using MS Project.

  • Regularly review critical path, cost loading, schedule content, use of relationships and lag, constraints and milestones.

  • Provide schedule analysis and metrics to key stakeholders on a regular basis.

  • Updating the schedule and comparing the actual work performed against the baseline program.

  • Review vendor, sub-contractor and consultant schedule submittals and incorporate appropriate information into the schedule.

  • Identifying activities impacting the schedule’s critical path and facilitating the identification of opportunities to accelerate completion of the work, or measures to avoid potential delays.

  • Assist in the review of the schedule and status of the plans during all phases of the projects.

  • Schedule & manage Internal Project Review Meetings.

  • Schedule & manage weekly project update meetings with our key supply chain.

  • Assist with managing the project planner for the portfolio of projects in hand at any one time.

  • Assist our Quality Assurance team with the development of standards & implementation of same.

  • Assist Project Director with day to day client requests on our live projects.

Skills

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of the data centre market

  • Familiarity with project management systems & platforms

  • Broad understanding of construction methods of data centres

Experience

  • 3years plus experience in project or programme management

  • Experience in project planning/scheduling within the construction sector.

  • Ability to multi-task.

  • Ability to work under pressure (timelines and deadlines) when required

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with scheduling software, with a strong preference placed on MS Project, and/or Primavera P6;

  • Requires strong computer skills to include Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project and database applications.

  • An understanding of critical path methodology to ensure, and communicate, timely delivery of milestone tasks;
