Duties & Responsibilities

Purpose

Tosetup,implementandmaintaintheOceaneeringFloatingSystemsintegritymanagementservicetoensurethecontinued integrityofourclient’soffshoreproductionfacilities.ThisserviceistobeinlinewithallOceaneeringandourclient’s documentaryrequirementsandonshore/ offshorelegislationwhereapplicable.

FunctionsEssential

  • ProvidetechnicalsupportinNavalArchitecture,delegatingworkwhereapplicabletojuniorengineerswithintheir technicalcapabilities. Reviewandcheckjunior engineer output

  • ProvidesupporttoourclientswhichincludesIntegrityManagement/InspectionManagement/Repairactivitiesfor FloatingSystems(bothhullandtopsidesstructures) inaccordancewiththerelevant partsof thecontractasrequired

  • PrepareandmaintainFloatingSystems(hullandtopsidesstructures) IntegrityandInspectionManagementstrategies

  • PrepareandmaintainPlannedMaintenanceRoutines(PMR's)basedupontheHullStructuralIntegrityandInspection Strategies

  • InputtotheproductionandongoingmanagementoftheassetAnnualInspectionPlansandclientplanningprocessfor floatingsystemsactivitiesto meet theClient planninggate criteria

  • Developandissuedetailedinspectionworkpacks/workscopesforinspectionstotheappropriatepersonorcontractor.

Ensureallpartiesarefullyconversant withallaspectsoftheworkscopes

  • Ensurethehullandtopsidesstructuralinspectionsdetailedinthe strategiesare carriedout andare coordinatedwithall other activitieswherenecessary

  • ReviewandendorseallrelevanthullandtopsidesstructuresInspectionReports,including3rdpartyNDEReports,andconfirmtheinspectionshavebeencarriedout asrequiredbythestrategies

  • Carryoutfirstpassassessmentofreporteddefects,reportanyanomaliesandhighlightanyareasofconcerntothe appropriateclientnavalarchitect/integrityfocalpoint.Advisetheclientwhenconditionspresentanyimmediatethreat tointegrity

  • Undertake specific investigations into hull and topsides structural issues, and engage approved 3rd parties as necessarytocompletethe scope

  • Input totheIQ/ROprocessforfloatingsystemsissues

  • Liaisonwithoffshoreinspectionteams(includingRAT,UAV&ROV)tocontinuouslyimprovethehullandtopsides structuresinspectionscopes

  • ProducetheFloatingSystemsAnnualSummary Reports

  • Support theLineManager (LM) inappropriateaspectsof managementof Oceaneeringcontract providingassuranceon technicaldeliveryandcostmanagement

  • Ensureregulatoryandclientstandardcompliance

  • DeveloptheCTRs(Cost, Time& Resource)insupportof client requirements

  • Ensureallworkiscompliantwithrelevantclientengineeringandsafetystandardsandpracticesandreviewany revisionsandfeedbackfromclient IntegrityFocalPoint

  • Promotetheuseofspecialisttechnologytoprovideamoreefficientserviceandtoresolveunusual/specialproblems, liaisewiththeclient ontheimplementationwhenappropriate

SupervisoryResponsibilities

Directly supervises the assigned assistant naval architects / assistant structural engineers within the naval / structures team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities ma y include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

WorkingConditions

  • Thispositionispredominatelyconsideredonshoreofficework.Thisisalmostexclusivelyindoorsduringtheworking day, andoccasionallyatnight,inanopenplanofficewithaccessbystairsonly.

  • Therewillbearequirement togooffshorebyhelicopter / shiptofloatingstructures/ fixedplatformsfor upto3weeksat atime,maybe3to4timesayear.ThesevesselswilltypicallybeintheNorthSeabutmayonoccasionbeoverseas. ThiswillrequiretypicaloffshorePPEandinspectiontypeactivitiesrequiringconfinedspaceentry(CSE)intoareas suchas cargooiltanks,ballasttanksandservicetanks.

  • Theremaybearequirementtogotoanonshorelocationtoperformthesamedutiesasaboveonfloatingstructures alongsidethequay.

  • Offshoreworkmayalsobecharacterisedasliving,workingandsleepingonoilandgasproductionfacilitieswithPPE andpermittoworkrestrictionsoutdoors,over/nearwater,exposedtoallweatherconditionsorinsideexposedtohigh noiselevels,extremelybrightor inadequatelighting,crampedwork spacesandgettingintoawkwardpositions.
